“Most Changed Since Middle School”

Titled after a senior superlative received in high school, this project explores transformation as both physical and chemical change. The project considers how identity is shaped by both temporary, surface-level shifts and permanent, irreversible ones. Composed of 1,300 individually edited frames in Photoshop and compiled into a stop-motion animation using Premiere Pro, the work uses self-portrait photography to trace different phases of life through evolving outfits and styles. Set against stark white backgrounds, the imagery highlights contrast between conformity and individuality, capturing transformation as a continuous yet irreversible process.
